Summer Internship Program 2026

We are no longer accepting applications for our Summer 2026 Internship Program 

Arete began our award winning summer internship program in 2019. Our interns work out of our headquarters office in Fredericksburg, Va., where they have direct access to our management consultants and a front-row seat to see how things are done here. Interns learn and practice marketing, learn and implement relevant technology used often in consulting.

Full-time Arete employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first day of the next month following their start date.

We offer a competitive 401K retirement plan where Arete will match the first 4% of contributions.

Arete supports employee professional development and continual learning. Arete will reimburse thes cost of supervisor approved courses and programs after successful completion. We also offer tuition reimbursement for qualified employees up to $5000 per calendar year for graduate and undergraduate studies leading to a degree after one year of employement.

All full time, salaried employees receive 11 paid federal holidays off each year. Salaried employees also accrue 15 days of PTO each calendar year. Arete believes in giving back to our communities so each salaried employee also recieves 24 hours of paid community service time each calendar year.

Employees have the option to set aside the maximum amount allowed per month by the IRS in a pre-tax fund from their paycheck for transit and vanpool expenses.

Supporting our Clients

By designing, implementing, and supporting custom business applications using Microsoft’s Power Platform. The position requires working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and develop effective solutions that streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to help build a pioneering unmanned systems program from the ground up, shaping the future of maritime, air, and subsurface operations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide acquisition and program management support to the Program Executive Office to include but not limited to developing, updating, and maintaining acquisition documents and processes.

  • Execute and delegate subject matter taskings with or to a multi-disciplinary team. 

  • Develop and deliver high-impact presentations for DHS, Congressional, and GAO briefings.

This position focuses on cybersecurity compliance and lifecycle support for Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) under the Risk Management Framework (RMF). 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and maintain RMF documentation to support acquisition lifecycle phases and Acquisition Decision Events (ADEs). 

  • Track and manage Plan of Action and Milestones (POAMs) in eMASS. 

  • Monitor system scans and ensure transparency in testing and results.
