What does a Consultant II do?

· Demonstrate ‘Can Do’ attitude and effort.

· Actively Listen to client goals and objectives, own the client mission.

· Ask clarifying questions that expand upon goals & objectives.

· Identify and review existing documentation and reports.

· Analyze current programs, processes, procedures, and systems.

· Execute thorough research on specific topics or projects.

· Perform thoughtful analysis including written recommendations for improvements, writing tasks, such as cost studies, requirements analysis, reports, processes, and systems.

· Actively prepare and participate in client and Arete meetings.

· Successfully implement process and procedures tied to accomplishing client objectives.

At Arete, we offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as prescription coverage begining day one of work.

We offer a competitive 401K retirement plan where Arete will match the first 4% of contributions.

Arete supports employee professional development and continual learning. Arete will reimburse thes cost of supervisor approved courses and programs after successful completion. We also offer tuition reimbursement for qualified employees up to $5000 per calendar year for graduate and undergraduate studies leading to a degree after one year of employement.

All full time, salaried employees receive 11 paid federal holidays off each year. Salaried employees also accrue 15 days of PTO each calendar year. Arete believes in giving back to our communities so each salaried employee also recieves 24 hours of paid community service time each calendar year.

Employees have the option to set aside the maximum amount allowed per month by the IRS in a pre-tax fund from their paycheck for transit and vanpool expenses.

Internships

Arete began its summer internship program in 2019. Our interns work out of our headquarters office in Fredericksburg, Va., where they have direct access to senior leadership and a front-row seat to see how things are done here. Interns learn and practice marketing, learn and implement relevant technology used often in consulting.

Arete’s network of management consultants bring energy, initiative, and imagination to solve client challenges, deliver value, and create a lasting impact. We work with our clients to develop solutions that will enable organizations to achieve and exceed mission results. 
 
We are seeking a talented and motivated student for our Summer 2024 internship program. The internship begins June 3, 2024 and runs through July 31, 2024. This will be a valuable experience for any student interested in management consulting, project management, information technology, operations support, or talent management.  

 
*Positions are onsite mostly at our Fredericksburg, VA location and occasionally in Washington D.C.

Intern Requirements, Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

· Currently a college undergraduate junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree

· Have a GPA of 3.4 or higher 

· Excellent communication skills, written and verbal

· Energetic and motivated team player 

· High degree of attention to detail 

· Ability to work independently, in a team, and in an unstructured environment 

· Excellent Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and adept ability to learn new software programs quickly

· Potential to obtain a security clearance
